SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard.ABOUT
I've been a musician for nearly 4 decades. I've gigged NY, MA, RI, and FL. Relocated 2 years ago from from Cocoa Beach area of Fl. where I played a steady weekend gig doing our interpretations of cover songs from the '60's - today. A beach party gig. I've been doing hired gun gigs since arriving here, but nothing steady. I have never really been about the note for note cover thing. Most of my musical experience is original bands from the jamband thing to straight up rock. I am musically educated with a strong theory background. I really enjoy Bluesy/ Jazzy/ Latin / Rock material that leaves room to stretch for myself and the other members of the band. Like to have a " band sound " and perform things in that style. I do not sing, prefer to just " Shut Up and Play My Guitar."

Influences
I listen to everything from " Bach to Rock ". For the guitar, my inflences are wide. A partial list in no particular order: Santana, Hendrix, Gary Moore, Randy Rhoads, Frank Zappa, John McLaughlin, Jeff Golub. These players have influence as much for "tone", "feel", and "approach" as they do for technique. I do my best to emulate a style that fits the piece I am playing. I would never try to play Randy licks in a Miles piece...Pat Martino, Johnny Mc, or Mike Stern, sure. It is all about the song.
EQUIPMENT
Les Pauls/ Strat. Handmade repo of Hendrix's 1968 Plexi down to the swapped out transformers and KT88 power tubes. Has an F/X loop. In that sits a Lexicon MPX 1, have the floor control unit. Pedalboard has first edition Vai Bad Horsey wah, octive divider, several overdrive/distortion boxes for various degrees of grind/gain, volume boost. All pedals are high end botique. Cab is either a Cornford Harlequin inspired single 12 or a vintage Hiwatt 4x12. I use a Koch attenuator to drop the wattage so I can go from jazz clean to Satriani/Santana/ Hendrix scream at reasonable volume levels. I've used the single 12 cab setup at clubs that hold no more than 50 people and never had to be told I was too loud.
