ABOUT

The Convertibles Band, Houston's premiere working cover band, is searching for a drummer.

We are a kick-ass 3-piece band with a working repertoire of close to 1,000 songs: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, Bob Seger, AC/DC, Ozzie, ZZ, Bryan Adams, Rush, Santana, Orleans, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, and on and on. Classic Rock of the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and more....Nickleback, Stained, Lit, Daughtry, etc etc etc. We also do a bit of blues, some country, some jazzier stuff, blah blah blah, do you get the picture?

We are seeking a totally professional drummer with excellent pocket and meter and the ability to play a variety of styles. Must be a team player and be willing to take direction and criticism. Personality and chemistry are at lest as important as awesome chops.

Candidates MUST be adults without excess baggage. No REALLY bad habits, no aggressive/possessive girlfriends/wives. Please don't be the kind of person who has to slam a few beers before you play to "loosen up". (We don't drink - don't mind if you do in moderation. We ARE 420 friendly...you don't necessarily have to be.)

We are looking for the third leg of our triangle.... We know (literally) close to 1,000 songs...however, we don't really ever rehearse, so we don't have a $300 a month room to pay for. We are smart and experienced players/performers. We are seeking a guy who can play great on the first song, first night...someone who can follow hand signals and directions and play a song he (or she) has NEVER EVEN HEARD.

Bass player/Vocalist and Guitarist/Violinist/Vocalist have been together for 5 solid years. We have FUN every night we get to play together! Our songlist as well as our nightly playlist is derived from audience requests, what's playing on the jukebox and plenty of songs that we just LOVE TO PLAY!!!

A good portion of our nightly show is devoted to something very unique and different: we perform a bunch of rock songs with electric violin replacing guitar...must be heard to be believed! Stuff like "The Levee" by Zeppelin, "Voodoo Child" by Hendrix, "Baba O'Reilly (Teenage Wasteland)" by The Who, "American Woman" by The Guess who and "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd. Oh yeah, of course, "Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Charlie Daniels.

Check us out here: .theconvertiblesband or on at ./theconvertiblesband. This band works 10 - 20 times a month and the pay is never less than $100 per nite per man (often it's MORE!).
