ABOUT

I'm a hard rock/heavy metal guitarist. I grew up listening to hair metal with an emphasis on shred guitar, and anyone that had more than one song on the radio.
I'm a technical player with an emphasis on songs, and melodies. I'm not into guys that do endless arpeggios or overly technical leads that are way over peoples heads and put them to sleep.

I prefer to do upbeat projects with people that aren't all business. Honestly, the quality of the person is more important to me than the quality of their playing as long as they're strong enough to get the job done.
My dream band would be a high energy rock band with a female lead vocalist, but I'm open to other things as long as it's not too far off the beaten path with what I do. I'm also strongly leaning towards some sort of Prog Metal project as they tend to have a more devoted following, and I would be able to travel to Europe a lot since that's where most of it originates.
My style incorporates a lot of blues, but I'm interested in learning/doing some Jazz/Fusion stuff as well.
I'm open to cover work, or anything that will be fun and help me grow as a musician. Especially if it pays ;)
I'm also into networking so if you got some guys and you want to jam we can get together and see if it hits. Honestly, that's the best way to pick up people anyways.
I'm also up for any writing/studio projects as well.
I've been out of the scene for a while so I'm looking for anything to help me get my feet wet and playing with people.

EQUIPMENT

I'm a bit of a gearhead, so I'm constantly changing and updating,
but right now:
-120 watt tube high gain half stack, and a 40 watt combo.
-TC Electronic Nova System(Multi Effects unit) along with some pedals.
-2 prestige Ibanez RG's, and a cheap ESP that I use for lessons and practice when I need alternate tunings

I usually like a combination of both since dragging 20 pedals out just to go jam isn't practical, but relying on processors usually kills your tone for recording and live gigs.
As far as guitars go I'm really interested in Ernie Ball, maybe a Petrucci model, and I'll be picking up another acoustic soon.
If all goes well I'll be shopping for endorsements in the coming year
