Started playing playing guitar when I was 15. Was in a lot of bands in HS and college that didn’t last long. Mostly a bedroom/porch rocker through my 20s. Got involved in the Celtic scene in my early 30s. Started playing mandolin and fiddle (Irish/Scottish). Started a Scottish trad group around 2013 called the Rochester Strathspey and Reel Society. Mid-thirties started playing highland pipes. Eventually competed solo and with a band. Played many events. Only stopped recently due to COVID. Started dabbling with uillean pipes and taking lessons. But my first love, electric guitar, has crept back into my heart.
I’ve written songs, they always come out sounding a bit alternative country. I miss singing with people. I’m a sucker for good harmonies. I feel like this is where I belong.
For this purpose of this site I’m mainly looking to play guitar and sing. I’m not a bass player or drummer, but I do dabble with those instruments too and can keep a beat in a pinch.
