ABOUT

Currently with a great band called Ralph & The Rhythm Hounds (RRH) - RRH is a driving blues, blues/rock band established in 2003. The band took "First Place" in the 2019 Blues Challenge and will be competing in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN on January 28 thru February 1, 2020.

RRH has also played at many festival events including Taste Of Cincinnati, Lebanon Blues Fest and Cincinnati Blues Fest. The band released its first original CD, Mesmerized, in August 2016 and has shared the stage with Teeny Tucker (Blues HOF member), Lisa Mann, Gary Cain, and Shaw Davis. RRH is currently working toward the release of its second album.

My approach to music collaborations is to compliment not overtake the band and the volume. Staying in the pocket is critical to enabling the band to sound tight and professional (think Steve Jordan - John Mayer). However, well timed and appropriate fills (and an occasional solo when needed) always adds depth to great songs (think Beauford, Carlock). I'm interested in established/up-and-coming bands that are classic and/or contemporary rock, blues, soul, country, jazz-funk/pop, and/or originals. I have a wide range of musical influences and interests, multiple music venue/event performances, and recording studio experience. Please see ralphandtherhythmhounds for music videos and demo tracks. Background vocal capability, creative, dependable, and a team player. Contact Info: jmcjgriff at gee mail dot com
