ABOUT

I'm a longtime singer/songwriter, been in many bands over the years, usually fronting or co-fronting on vocals, acoustic/electric guitar, keys, percussion.
Had nice runs and fan bases in Lake Tahoe, Santa Barbara, San Diego, L.A., and Monterey. In the Orcutt area since 2011, fronted classic rock outfit, The UpShot until 2017, then downshifted to small combos in local wineries. Since 2020 I’ve been involved with an online collective of composers called Sum of All Music. We all contribute to our licensing library for film, tv, streaming, podcasts, gaming, etc. I have 60+ originals that I draw from plus instrumental tracks created with Logic Pro X on my Mac. You can check out my stuff on the artist page at sumofallmusic

Influences

Huge respect for Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella, etc, and then there was Elvis and all those great fifties rockers, black and white, but for me it started with the Beatles, like everything else did, got into British Invasion bands like Stones, Kinks, Yardbirds, Animals, The Who, then Jimi, The Doors, Cream, Traffic, Deep Purple, Creedence, lotta Motown, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Santana, into early Elton John, Neil Young, CSN, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Eagles, then Prog Rock like Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, into Police, Clash, Midnight Oil, Bob Marley, 10cc, Squeeze, Bonnie Raitt, Steely Dan, Brazilian like Jobim, Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben, African like Johnny Clegg, Fela Kuti, Cuban like Buena Vista Social Club....and sure I'm leaving a lot of artists out, including more contemporary ones, and you can tell I'm all over the place, but I grew up with rock music and pretty much everything around comes from that rich history.
