Started playing guitar, mostly fingerpicking, in college. Grew up playing accordion, but don't do that much now. Have played electric bass guitar at church for over 20 years, but only do that once or twice a month now and occasionally play acoustic guitar at church. Have had some guitar lessons over the years, but really started studying more about a year ago when I was asked to teach. Musically, I'm much more of a follower than leader; like to support and don't need to be out front. I've been accused of playing jazz, but I'm not that good ... just like to play around a bit.

David Bromberg, James Taylor, Paul Simon, lots of blues folks, and lots of jazz folks. Favorites include Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell, Larry Carlton, and no, I don't copy them, but do admire and in some moments emulate them.

Instrument experience:

Bass Guitar:

Lots. Martin acoustic, PRS hollowbody spruce, Eastman 503ce, Alembic bass. Trace Acoustic, Fender Ultralight Jazz, Acoustic Image, and Raezer's Edge, plus Marbass Li'l Mark II and Acme Low B1 for bass. Have had lots of others over the years. I do set-up and some repair, have built electrics, have collected ... maybe still do?!
