Jimmy started singing in rock bands right out of High School, and played in the local scene at various halls, restaurants, dives and parties. After cutting his teeth on old-school 80's hair metal and gaining a reputation as an energetic performer, Jimmy was scouted by a traveling band. At only 19, Jimmy sang on an album of cheeky 80's radio rock, and followed up with a multi-state bus tour. Upon his return, the focus became songwriting as he penned many tunes with thrash anomaly 'Vagrant', who recorded at the Wonder Valley Recording Studio of guitar great Paul Hughes.

Not long after, Jimmy moved to Austin, TX where he performed for several rock bands on the Texas club circuit, opened for multiple signed acts, and recorded songs at Audio Arts, Music Lane, and Graffiti Studios in Dallas, TX. In the mid-90's Jimmy earned a degree in Recording Engineering, played all original shows and tracked an album with melodic hard rock powerhouse 'Vibetribe'.

Much songwriting and recording ensued after a subsequent return to his roots in the Ozarks. In one year alone, Jimmy wrote 25 faith-based songs and released a self-produced EP called 'One Drop'. Leading several cover bands, he raised the roof at various dance halls and casinos in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Appearing as a guest singer on indie prog rock album 'Portrait of a Zebra' by engineer and multi-instrumentalist Graeme Swallow, Jimmy belts out the fast-moving title track, among others. Listen to 'Zebra Song' on iHeart radio:

As of 2019, Jimmy has written over 200 songs, carries several albums of material in development, and has crooned over the crowd at well over 500 gigs. Jimmy plays guitar, keys and harmonica, as well as various percussive noise-makers. Now happily married and relocated to the Florida panhandle, he continues to write and reach for new creative insight, looking for ways to connect with people like only music can.
