Punk music is what got me into rock and roll. It was a bigger influence on me when I was younger, but the style and ethos is always going to be at the core of what I do. I like all sorts of punk music, stuff from the 70s (ramones, the clash), 80s hardcore/ SST records (descendents, minutemen, husker du, black flag), 90s melodic/pop punk/emo/post-hardcore (bad religion, fugazi, jawbreaker, sunny day real estate, at the drive in), and also more contemporary stuff (jeff rosenstock,PUP, modern baseball).

As of late, my biggest influences would be alternative and indie rock, especially from the 90s (e.g. pavement, built to spill, modest mouse, etc...). This style of music has the biggest influence on my songwriting these and these guitar/bass tones are most similar to what I try to go for these days.

Basically, I'm in my 30s, and music is very nostalgic for me. I don't really keep up with a lot of what goes on these days, but am open to hearing what other people are into. I would love to hear new stuff, especially your music!

Fender Stratocaster Deluxe (HSS) with a customized wiring scheme. It sounds really pissed off for being a strat.

Fender Deluxe Jazz bass (active). This is my baby. I've had it for over 20 years and it sounds better every time I play it.

I've used Orange, Fender, and Ampeg amps. Nowadays, I use a Kemper Stage Profiler. I like to add a touch of dirt/fuzz (Proco Rat, EHX Big Muff, Fulltone Fulldrive 2, Cameltone Nard, EQD Dunes, etc...).But not much. I'm not really into playing high gain or heavy music, but don't play super clean..

I make lots of music at home. Record, mix, and master. Space and money is tight, so I use a lot of plugin emulations of analog gear (API, empirical labs, manley stanley, pultec, neve, etc...).
