Hello,
My is Jamie La Spina. I am a solo singer/songwriter/artist based outside of phily. I have been playing, writing and performing music for about seven or eight years now. I have traveled the East Coast with some of the top cover bands in the Philadelphia area. I have also been in two original bands both of which were talking to major record labels.
Music to me is a way of life. It has a tremendous influence on each and every one of us everyday. To me, music is the only way that I am truly and fully able to express myself and when I am truly happy. Every song that I write has a meaning behind it. When I am performing, playing, or writing it is the only time I am able to be completely free from the world.
My musical style consists of a blend between classic and modern rock. When I developed my own, young musical taste, my roots started to develop from punk rock however, I grew up on the classic rock.
My musical influences are very broad. I can appreciate many types of music. Many people do not realize the heart, dedication, time, talent, goals, dreams, and even money that are invested in being a musician.
Some of the Artists that have had influences on me are; Staind, Fuel, Pearl Jam, CSNY, DMB, The Goo Goo Dolls, Foo Fighters, Matchbox Twenty, Coldplay, 3 Doors Down, Howie Day, Weezer, Bad Religion, Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, Jack Johnson and many more.
I am currently playing solo on various nights and locations. I go by the name "The J.L. Project." The shows that I am doing now are mainly cover songs with a mix of some originals. I am in the process of finding more original venues as well.
All I want to do is play music. This is my passion and my dream. I know I have what it takes to make it where I want to be; now all I have to do is find someone to give me that chance.
All of my originals are copyrighted. The songs that you here were recorded by myself in my basement on Garageband.
Like I said, I have the drive, the will, the dedication, the talent and the passion. Now it is up to someone to give this no name kid from Philly a chance to do what everyone tells him is impossible.
