Jo Blak is a quickly emerging rapper from Chicago Illinois who redifines the word hip hop. Born in 1989 to his parents Cozette Caddle and Joseph Ali Sr. both, natives of Chicago Illinois. Jo was destined for something as he survived a child hood sickness that almost claimed his life at the age of 3 years old. He was badly ill with neumonia which fluid build up in his lungs and stopped his breathing. Unresponsive and not breathing, his loving Grandmother performed cpr and restarted his breathing. Jo survived and continued his journey enjoying the ups and downs of life until he discovered music at the age of 12.
At age 12 Jo began to express himself on paper. Poetry, stories, and raps began to be his new found passion. He discovered that writing was a pure pass time and helped him to express his emotions on every level through his ability to express himself on paper. Jo found his ability to rap his thoughts became second nature and before he knew it he was a young hip hop beast in the making. Jo took his talent to the streets and by the time he was 14 he had already recorded a library of songs and even won a few rap battles hosted by Chicago radio stations.
Jo today is a growing pioneer in the hip hop world in Chicago. Jo is quickly breaking ice amongst who is who in hip hop. His style would definitely be versatile as he touches reality of the growing youth today. Jo often says " I am the voice of the youth". A true legend that is under rated but will soon make his mark in the world of hip hop.
