ABOUT

OK I might fail but I am trying to say this without coming across like a jerk. Please read my entire bio before contacting me. I have purposely put everything you need to see whether or not I am a fit on this page, music and videos etc. As well as exactly what I am interested in band wise. Please don't ask for "music samples and videos of my playing" when everything you need is on this page.
Thank you!!

I am committed but I do also have a day job and need to stay in the local area. I would like to find an original project where there is collaboration between all of the members. I have gotten a few replies stating "we are the same age, we must be into the same music" and they will list a lot of classic rock bands. I have the utmost respect for those classic rock bands but they're not really what I am into. I really prefer modern rock bands. I mostly listen to Alt Nation on SiriusXM. Some of the bands on my playlist at the moment are I Don't Know How But they Found Me, Joywave, St. Motel, Maneskin, Badflower and The Struts just to name a few. I don't mind some Blues Rock music. I do like the Black Crowes and being from Massachusetts I grew up on early Aerosmith. There are also two new artists that have a bluesy feel to them that I like, Mac Saturn and Hannah Wicklund.

I will always be open to playing in a Celtic Rock band along the lines of Flogging Molly, The Dropkick Murphy's and Young Dubliners. When I played in The Dead Rabbits in Los Angeles it was a lot of fun and really unique. I am also 100% Irish so I fit the stereotype lol

My roots date back to the 1980s in western Massachusetts when I started playing bass professionally with an all original 80s synth/pop band Diamondz in the Rough. The keyboard player Tommy Tallarico has been a video game composer since the mid 90s and is pretty well known in that industry. I played acoustic guitar and bass on the song Letters to Paris which is featured on the Tomorrow Never Dies Video Game soundtrack as well as in the game. I also played in Dead Reckoning, a very popular all original blues rock band in Massachusetts back in the early 90s. We played at some of the same local places at the same time as bands like Staind, and Shadows Fall when they were just starting out in Springfield, MA.

I have played everything from 80s pop, to Americana, jam band music, alt/modern rock as well cover songs. If an original band wanted to throw in a couple of cover songs but modernize them or make them our own that would be fine, however I am definitely not interested in playing in a band that is 100% cover songs. Also I am not religious and respectfully, I do not have any interest in Christian music or Church bands.

In the late 90s and early 2000s I played in Los Angeles modern rock bands Untyde and 39 Reasons as well as an Irish Rock band The Dead Rabbits. The band Untyde had our song Shine in the movie School of Life which is an obscure Ryan Reynolds film. I have included the video on this page. 39 Reasons went on a national tour in 2005. I am also an Active member of ASCAP.

Influences

These are just some of the bass players I think have a cool vibe to them. John Paul Jones, Tom Hamilton, Geezer Butler, Bill Wyman, John Entwhistle, Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Justin Chancellor, Steve Harris of Iron Maiden is great and so is Simon Gallup of The Cure. A lot of different styles of music but amazing bass players.

EQUIPMENT

My Equipment:

1962 Fender Reissue Jazz bass

1971 Fender Precision bass

I prefer Hartke heads and cabinets, I used a HA3500 Head with a Hartke 4200 4x10 cab during my Hollywood years, and Trace Elliot in the 90s. I sold both of them before my moves to LA and then when I returned back East in 2010. I am holding off from buying any larger gear until I find a project, but have my eye on a few different makes and models. I have an SWR 8 which is a nice little 30 watt practice amp, good for learning songs and jamming around. I would use it for when my bands played acoustic sets.
