ABOUT

*** Please Read this part first: I work a very well-paying, but time demanding job. I work Friday nights. This is not flexible. I am not available to play/jam/gig on Friday nights, sorry.***

About me, I'm laid back, easygoing, and love to joke around, but I don't mix very well with egos, emos, or 'God complexes'. My sense of humor tends to lean towards what can only be termed as 'irreverent', and I rather like it that way!

I am a songwriter as well as a drummer. I have no interest in just being 'someone's drummer' and playing whatever I am told. I feel like if you are going to play in a group, everyone in that group deserves the respect and courtesy of an equal partnership.

Having said all that :), I love to get together and jam, and work on original materials.

Covers are fine too, as long as there is room for artistic interpretation. (My personal opinion is if somebody wanted to hear a song exactly the way it was recorded, they'd do better just to turn on the radio and listen to it there.)

I'm currently jamming with a couple of guitar players here in Cape. We could use a bass player and some vocals! If interested, drop me a line.

Influences

My personal influences are mainly based in classic rock, but I am definitely an eclectic. I will listen to, and play, just about anything. I love the versatility offered by funk and fusion styles of drumming.

EQUIPMENT

Roland TD-6's with Simmons SDHB2 add-on module, gives me an extremely versatile kit. I run double snares, 2 rides and 2 crashes, plus the 3 toms, hats, and bass.

I also have an acoustic kit, Tama Rockstars w Gibraltar V-rack and a medley of cymbals all around, including Zildjian and Paistes. I replaced the factory 'chrome' 14x5 snare with a 13x3 pearl piccolo, and added a pdp 10x6 snare as well. It ain't orthodox, but hey, neither am I. ;)
