I'm 28, back in school, and really miss playing music. I've been playing guitar for about 17 years and music in general for about 20. I started playing in bands back around 2003 in Detroit until 2010 when I joined the military. I have been out of the scene since but still playing music the entire time and would really love to start performing again now that I have the time. I have some solid connections with people locally to start playing quality gigs ASAP so now I'm just lookin for people to play with!
I'm trying to play your usual bar covers of popular modern songs, from rap to R&P to rock to folk. Just whatever young people like. Think Boyce Avenue. In terms of playing originals, I'm open to that as well but I typically need to build a musical rapport with someone before writing with them.
I play guitar mainly, but can also play mandolin and have a banjo and need a reason to get better at it. I can sing back up vocals pretty well, I understand how to harmonize, but really need someone who can sing lead well.
