ABOUT

My job is to give your songs the right pulse by playing the drums musically.

Like many, I am self-taught then learned technique. Daily warm-ups and exercises are very important to me putting practicing over playing. Whether covers or original music I always do my homework before getting together with a band. I also am happy helping to arrange new music or try out your ideas on the spot. In a jam or improve situation, I have no fear to jump in. Just the same I am 100% happy keeping "the beat" when it's the right thing to do.

Influences

I have been influenced, inspired and motivated by a whole host of drummers. Here is a short list and in no particular order:

Stewart Copeland, Liberty DeVitto, Philip "Fish" Fisher, Chad Smith, Steve Gadd, Clem Burke, Cliff Martinez, Joe Morello, Jeff Porcaro, Terry Chambers, Paul Hawley, Chris Dangerous, Dave Weckl, Topper Headon, Glenn Kotche, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Gilson Lavis, Tony Thompson, Greg Errico, Michael Bland, Prince, Roger Taylor (both of them)

Just the same there are many songs that have engaging and inspiring drum lines: "50 ways to leave your lover" | Paul Simon, "Birthday" | Sugarcubes, or "I'm am trying to break your heart" | Wilco.

Some one asked me who I play like. A good question as I think we usually think of who we would like to play like or play to. Here is my answer: Sterling Campbell and Steve Ferrone.
