ABOUT

I have been playing harmonica for 40 years, mostly at open mics and with friends. I would like to find local musicians to jam with and possibly start a band. I am also taking guitar and mandolin lessons. I could contribute some vocals but probably not main lead vocals. It would be great to come up with some originals with the right collaborators. I'm more interested in making good music not money or feeding egos. For now, reach me at jn06fields

Influences

I usually play mostly blues, rock and a little country. I would prefer to play hard blues rock like "When the Levee Breaks" by Zeppelin or Gimme Shelter. Something that sounds dangerous. I would like to come up with a mix of very hard blues, rock and serious, outlaw, backwoods, hardcore, scary-ass country music. I like groups like the Black Crowes, the Black Keys, the Stones, Peter Wolfe and J Geils, Neil Young, Poco, Dylan, U2, Fleetwood Mac, Concrete Blonde, Alvin Lee, Rory Gallagher, CCR, the Allman Bros., Thin Lizzy, Mahogany Rush, Gary Moore, Dire Straits, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, Skynyrd, Steve Earle, John Hiatt, the Eagles, The Smithereens, Springstein, Tom Petty, Drive By Truckers, Warren Zevon, Audio Slave, Rage Against the Machine, Monster Magnet, Tool, Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie. Also some Rockabilly and punk, Social Distortion, The Cramps, the Sex Pistols, Robert Gordon, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Stray Cats. Recently discovered Left Lane Cruiser and Henry's Funeral Shoe It's pretty close to the type of music I'd like to play, pretty raw and hard core. I also like the theme song to the show Justified, Long Hard Times to come by Gangstagrass. I like a great ballad too. I don't like to limit myself. I would like to do a mix of different eras and types of music.

EQUIPMENT

I've got about 12 diatonic blues harps, a Shure bullet mic and a digital delay pedal, which can produce some great, dirty harp sounds on a Special 6 VHT tube amp, a Fender Champion 300 amp, an Epiphone electric and Alvarez acoustic guitar, a Squier electric bass and a Rogue mandolin.
