SEEKINGBand to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano.
Hello, I'm John Crews. I'm a guitarist/bassist/vocalist. I've been trying to start a local band for a while now and I am very confident that I have the knowledge, commitment, and ability to become a touring musician. I would consider myself at an intermediate level. I taught myself how to play since I was 16. I've been in 3 projects, only one played shows, and I've filled positions for local bands as a bass player/back-up vocalist. I write majority of my own music; lyrics, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and bass. I've tried teaching other people instruments to be apart of my band, though that is taking to long of a time. I can read and write tabs. I am, through private study, trying to learn how to write sheet music and learn all of the musical phrases. I am interested in learning new instruments, especially bow instruments. I am usual the primus inter pares when it comes to band; scheduling practice days and times, writing the music, and taking in everyone's opinion and finding medians in internal band conflicts. But in all honesty I'm looking for a brother inside of a musician.

My influence general comes from the post hardcore outfit, but I'd prefer to consider everything I do experimental. Okay, since the music genre selection limited my genres to only 3 I must say I take influences from multiple genres i.e.
Acoustic: (none really, I just like to write some acoustic pieces)
Punk: My Chemical Romance, Maximum the Hormone, Senses Fail, A Day To Remember
Electronic: Daft Punk, Zedd, Deadmau5
Others: Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, The Word Alive, and others, just communicate with me and I'm sure I'll spill out my current favorite artist or something.
