Calling all vocalists! A King’s Ransom is currently on the prowl for a lead singer that is ready to rock! With shows booked and fans screaming, we are looking for someone who is ready, experienced, talented, and creative. AKR is interested is bringing on a singer first as a fill-in, and if things click, you will become a permanent member!
We have several requirements for the singer for which we are looking:
- Great work ethic and the passion and drive to make it happen
- Talent, creativity, and experience in song writing and musical construction
- Professional gear is a must! A practice PA, monitors, and a stage microphone is what we are looking for. Also, name the brands you are currently using
- Attendance of our rehearsal sessions (3-4 evenings per week when not playing shows) is required, as well as the ability to play all of our shows (both in town and out of town). Also,
- Having an equal share in the costs and expenses incurred by AKR. This includes a rehearsal space, merchandise bills, gas and food, and other expenses of a touring band
- Be able to work as an equal with AKR, take constructive criticism, and get the job done the first time
- Out-sing our current singer! Remember, you don’t have to sing or sounds like him, just better!
Once we have worked with you and see that things really click, we can bring you on as a permanent member of the band. At that time, we are looking for you to have the ability to tour for extended periods of time, and it is preferred, however not required, that you have had touring and showing experience with previous rock bands.
Initially, we would like interested singers to submit a recording of your actual vocal tracks, be it with or without music. Any quality is acceptable, as long as they can be transmitted digitally (MP3, WAV, etc). This helps us see what kind of style and range you possess and how to find someone that meets our standards.
Once you submit something, we will review it and contact you – please include your preferred email address and phone number at which we can reach you.
If we decide to have you audition, please learn the two tracks available on our . Also, be prepared to ad-lib a song on the fly to one of our instrumentals.
If selected to fill in for A King’s Ransom, you are entitled to show credits and pay.
If selected to be a permanent member of AKR, you are entitled to tour earnings, royalties, and profits.
