I have been blessed to have played w/ some of the most talented musicians ever. I was in an acoustic duo, FORTUNE TELLS, w/ a cat named Alan Rice whose musical talent to this day dumbfounds me. He quit to join a band by the name SNAKE NATION and they later became the infamous 7DUST.Meanwhile, i started my next project, SOUL HOUSE. We were a nu-metal outfit influenced by the late-great FAITH NO MORE/MR. BUNGLE, PANTERA, & 9" NAILS. We got to share the stage with national acts like the pricks in the '80's hair band GREAT WHITE, the amazing funk-rock group MOTHER'S FINEST. The highlight came from sharing the stage w/ the rap-metal pioneers STUCK MOJO, and the psychadelic/hard rock group VALENTINE SALLOON. We decided to go our separate ways after lineup changes and decided to go acoustic, forming the band 2 A.M. CAFE. We put out a CD produced by none other than SPIN MAGAZINE's 2006 producer of the year, BUTCH WALKER. We also shared the stage w/ CIGAR STORE INDIANS, THE PRODUCERS, and played the 1996 OLYMPICS. My last project, the power-pop, BAY COUNTY POETS, was the best ride of my life, putting us on top with gigs at CLUB LA VELA in PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL during SPRING BREAK! Also we shared the stage w/ THE URGE, SPONGE, BETTER THAN EZRA, TOBY KEITH(???), the rediculously talented MANDORICO, BLACKLIGHT POSTERBOYS, EVERYTHING, THE GUFFS, DIECAST, and CORNBREAD, but the honor of it all came from opening from opening for the hottie, JENNIFER NETTLES, now of SUGARLAND, and the infamous DAVE MATHEWS BAND(20,000 people!!!!), and major influences CHEAP TRICK! johnmcmullen2012... at.. .. dot.. com

From jazz, to soul, to pop, rock and contemporary Christian, I have been influenced by a wide variety of styles and sounds. I don't identify myself with any one sound, my musical style is all my own. I am a lyricist who is strongly influenced by the great Ray Bradbury.
