ABOUT

I play guitar (electric), pedal steel, bass and a little keyboard.

I also do a thing where I play bass and guitar simultaneously on a special instrument I've cooked up. I call it "dual-range guitar"

Have played a lot of styles. Right now interested in:

• "Post-Rock" instrumental music in the style of 'Pell Mell'. NOT the dirge-y Post-Metal stuff or the loop-based electronic kind. More melody/groove-based. Like an atmospheric Booker T & the MGs. (Other bands I might cite besides Pell Mell would be Steelism, Mattson 2 and 'Friends Of Dean Martinez'.)

• Country - Retro honky-tonk or some kind of Alt that's a bit twisted (Handsome Family?). Would love to hook up with a singer who sounds like a bullfrog (Hank Thompson, E.Tubb), or one who can croon (E.Arnold, M.Robbins, Faron Y.). If you want to sling the six-string, I could do the pedal steel and maybe tinkle some ivories. Or play bass. Whatever.

• If I could find a singer who can sing rock-n-roll in French, I think it would be fun to do a 60s "Twist" band. (Chats Sauvages, Aristocrates, J.Hallyday)

I'm in Kingston now (Stockade). Have a good setup for jamming here. Will be hosting a jam soon. Get in touch!

Also still have a place in the East Village.

EQUIPMENT

I invent music products for a living.

I have a space in the East Village where music can be played, but not with normal drums. We use a prototype of a low-volume drum kit I'm developing. There are amps and plenty of guitars and other instruments there also.

In Kingston I have an even better place for jams/parties. Drums, keys, basses & guitars a plenty.
