ABOUT

=== I'm not looking to join a band===
I have mainly played with aggressive rock and punk bands (I'm a Socal native, kinda hard to avoid punk's influence), but I write original material on bass and it tends to get compared with slow Tool songs, or eerie like VAST and Porcupine Tree. I
I primarily play bass, but I also enjoy acoustic guitar. I think making music is fun naturally, so I have no problem taking it as a serious job or as a fun hobby. Having a schedule doesn't take the fun out of it for me. I'll sit and grind along to a click track for hours just as easily as jump off the stage in a wild moment.

Influences

Meh. Everything from rain on the roof to classic rock to modern stuff to 80's punk to Ballywood dance music. I tend to shy away from pop, but I'll even play that, just not listen to it. Mainly I like music that creates a powerful emotion. Spacey, aggressive, smooth, tense... just so long as it's felt vividly by the listener.

EQUIPMENT

I have pro bass gear, with 700-1000 watts of power depending on set up. I use an 8x10 cab and 4-string basses, usually short scale. I have a cedar-top acoustic guitar as well, and my electric guitar stuff is just for fun, garage band type stuff. Technically it is powerful enough to play small-to-medium venues, but I would only be comfortable using it for sonically simple music like punk. I'm not going to spend time re-stringing and setting the intonation on that equipment; my bass gear is what I focus on keeping in proper order.
