ABOUT

06/20/13 - easy going, energetic, slightly kooky vocalist looking for musicians interested in working on a danceable rockabilly / jump blues / country swing project with intention of eventually gigging; specifically looking for lead guitar, drums, upright bass, keys, and sax. If we can get at least guitar, drums, and upright together, I'll rent some practice space in Denver to get us in a room and see what we can come up with, but keys and sax are critical to the project. I've got about 50-60 songs in mind, but would like to focus on about 6-12 initially to see if the group thinks it has what it takes. Willingness to rehearse with intention of eventually gigging reliably is a must. Age/experience makes no difference to me as long as you're reliable and willing to rehearse. If this project sounds at all interesting to you, visit the one page website ://voodoohepcats first before contacting me to get a better feel for where I want to go with this project and that you feel more or less the same way. This isn't an oldies band per se, it's intended to be a boogie woogie swing dance band best placed in a bar or other venue, not a corporate event or wedding.

Don't care if you drink or smoke a little, but if you're jacked on anything harder, we can't use you. I'll try to get some videos or audio up soon.

Lastly, we are definitely looking for committed players, but if you're a hired gun on sax or keys, please send me your contact info and demos.

I've got a decent 1200W PA rack mounted in a wheeled Gator case, with a 12 port effects mixer, some big ass JBL JRX125's, a pair of powered monitors and a couple of Shure mics (a 55sh and a wireless beta 58). You're welcome to plug into it or use your own gear.
