Mainly a 'bone player, but I took some time off to sing bass in a vocal group, so I can get by with my pipes a bit, too. Otherwise, I've picked up a number of instruments along the way with mixed levels of competency in each...point is that I have a solid theory background, I learn quickly, and I can jump in where I'm needed.
I've played regularly in swing and ska bands, and filled in for just about anything else...
I love playing funk, ska, reggae– anything with great horn lines.
I'm just finishing up my first year as a music teacher in the NYC DOE, and I'm hoping to take advantage of my free time this summer– looking to play some gigs here and there and have some fun. It's about time I got back into the New York music scene...
