Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Drums, Keyboard.ABOUT
My name is Jonathan. I come from a long line of musicians. My grandfather is legendary bluegrass picker Herbert "Lucky" Allen (Chet Atkins, Nat Turner, Mid Day Merry Go Round). My father was also a touring musician. Music became my passion at a VERY early age. I started taking band in the 4th grade (trumpet, baritone, tuba) and got sucked in by an awesome teacher. I found my passion for double bass (upright) early on. Hearing Victor Wooten for the first time greatly changed my perception of what a self sustaining instrument bass could be, leading me to pick up the electric at age 12. I was eager to learn and got lucky enough to have many teachers that cared. I started branching out to 6 string guitar and writing songs at age 14. You may have seen me playing with regional acts, including (but not limited to) A Hero Remains, Dalton Gray and Texville, Face All Fears, Receive The Arsonist, Sentinel Concept, and The Jonny Monster Band. You can currently catch me around Knoxville with my band This Ends Now. I've toured the USA coast to coast and have played well over 300 shows. Now I'm a family man who prefers to keep things closer to home. I have a BA in Musical Performance, and I teach music independently by giving guitar, vocal, and bass lessons daily. I'm looking for other high level musicians to jam/ gig with. I want to write the best songs possible, regardless of genre. I believe music should have NO LABELS and NO BOUNDARIES. If you are interested in jamming, taking lessons, or booking me for studio work, shoot me a message at one of the links below. My strong points are improv, my slapping technique, a keen ear, and excellent sight reading abilities.
You can email me at ya hoo. My screen name is jonallen1985.
