This is my songwriter page and all of the material here is copyright-free for the public domain. These are some of the songs I had written and recorded between 2000 and 2007 on a portable digital recorder in various locations around the country. They’re in mp3 format from unmastered mixes and do not sound good through speakers, smart phones and ear buds compress the files nicely for a better sound (I like to pan out the tracks). I've posted them to various hosting sites as far back as 2000 to digitally "copyright" the music but I'm still reserving the right to redo them with other musicians and artists. I'm currently writing new material and I'm still looking to collaborate with a female lead vocalist and a lead guitarist to finish and upgrade the material for internet streaming. My current project is mostly acoustic, with a lot of open tunings and acoustic/electric lead guitar. As for lyrics I am open to co-writing if I find a singer that's interested in working with me.
***I've recently upgraded my video editing software as I'm starting to now focus on the visual themes of the music, which isn't as dark as the older songs musically, but I haven't written lyrics yet either so... I have 2 vids sampling some video effects over at Rumble, there's links below. I can no longer access my older video site accounts so I'll be posting more at Rumble in the future with some of the newer music tracks I've been working on.

Wall St. junior investment bankers have no souls. I know because they talk too loud in coffee shops. What you see as pearls I see As grains of sand Irritating me Wasting in the same scene Animated mannequin liars There's nothing inside But they're looking so lovely Music videos are fading Into Monday's harsh reality Wasting in the same scene Sterile corporate cubicle lives There are dreamers inside And they're feeling so lost now And lonely You know the chords...GCD. There's an F that's alternates back and forth with the C. It's a guitar song.

Seaweed
Seaweed Genre: Folk
I call this the 'bottomless D"-it's played with the E string open. Starts in the 6th fret, drops back to the 5th...for chorus slide back to D and hammer the A string for a quick bass C. Basically a three chord progression. Struggling at sea to stay alive/You never learned to swim/Grab the nearest jetsam floating by/Now you're stuck with him/Now comes your prince/And he's got the other sandal/But you run away and hide from Master Flying Off the Handle/Watch the current die/You ride a wave/And you find the shore/And...you're finally free, but..../He wants you more now/Here comes the tide/Still struggling at sea/Still can't swim/There's nothing floating by anymore but him.

Time for Turbo
Time for Turbo Genre: Americana
I'm saving the lyrics as a poem. All you singers out there...go for it!!! Verse A(add2)-Amaj7-Cmaj7-B/D******Chorus A(add2)-Amaj7-Cmaj7/D-G/D-Bflat/D (slide that Bflat to B and release to open A)....The Amaj7 for verse is played with open B string. The A(add2) is basically an A played with an open B string. Chorus chords are held for 2 during guitar intro into chorus. Vocals go from mellow to anthem-ish in my version...and I would love to hear yours! It's physically painful for me to attempt singing my version. Maybe I'll find a singer for this one and re-do it from scratch. Hmmmmmm...... I only ask the guitarists to not alter the lead too much between the 4:00-4:20 mark...it's my humble nod to the great Ronnie Earl.

Debating Evolution
Debating Evolution Genre: Folk
What on earth?! Are you thinking with those? Thoughts colliding in your head All those voices Condescending All those visions And where on earth are you going now? The hometown life you knew is dead And your mind is a float In chemicals and in decision Why on earth are you hesitating when you know? You're running out of time To leave the world behind To find the ones who listen Are you waiting for that one special girl? Are you waiting for the end of the world? Don't run circles in my space If you can't find your own place to cry I tried that dry-sponge-shoulder thing It's not working One day it's love The next day it's hate Now I don't know who you are But I will still be here to face you When the dreams end Life is so many rooms with lots of halls There's one way you'll ever see it all What on earth are you thinking? Are you deciding now to move ahead? Or paint the walls and change the curtains in your prison?

Taking Flight
Taking Flight Genre: Acoustic
It's a love story. C-B/D-Bflat/D-D......E-G-D-CquickC/D....I'm so amazed by your patience with fate do the waves tell the blacksands to make you wait? Just waiting and washing away you'll cover me with brown hair and flower leis and a kiss filled with promises of love every day then you're gone when I awake ((she's getting by the island life suits her just fine and I'm so far away streaming thoughts with a pen and tons of paper and I don't know why I'm going to let the universe decide in another day when our worlds collide but she doesn't want to fly *unfriendly skies* so I'll make the journey and dive with faith *we live and die with any one decision* and I do spy signs that lead in her direction is it fate? I'm going to let the universe decide)) Your smile fades into light as I'm awakened by sounds in a world so far away if days are for daydreams of love everyday I'm waiting and washing away.

Angelspeak
Angelspeak Genre: Acoustic
The main verse is D-E-G, chorus A-G-D. The intro chords are just variations of those same chords, and the ending (outro???) is Cmaj7/D-D...but don't quote me on that. The "lead" guitar is an open D tuning. At the 3:50 mark I saw a young woman spinning with her hands over her face, falling in slow motion...laughing and crying, happy and sad. It's bittersweet. The rest of the song was built around that one scenario.

Extreme Case of You
Extreme Case of You Genre: Americana
It's supposed to be a slow waltz. Maybe a dirge. Missing a bridge? Tragic love story nonetheless. Em-A(add2)-D(with open E string)-C/D-B/D-G.....C(w/open B string)-slide to 5th for D-G...Feeling good because the others fell/Secure and sure and proud of yourself/Good or bad I could never tell/Your heaven is someone else's Hell/Just stay inside your shell/Day and night/We co-exist at separate times/Wrong or right/We define ourselves with truths and lies/Night and day/We chase and flee but never find/The game's been played I'll go ahead you stay behind/I'll dream of you to wake in time to see/The shades of gray from black and white/They take advice from the garden snake/We're human...hearts are meant to break/We learn from our mistakes/Night and day/We'll co-exist with separate lives/The game's been played/I'll go ahead, you stay behind.

Faces We Choose
Faces We Choose Genre: World
"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts..." -William Shakespeare G-C-C(with open B string)-C/G-C/D....Am-F-C-B/D(accented with the F#)....Have you ever wished? Your heart was free. From your mind...Denial. Today I'm not in need or deprived. I can fly. How did your eyes not see the same as mine? Denial. Let's just say it's me and you were right and we'll be fine...and I want to thank you for all those lovely words you said so polished and straight-faced. Lies that make me leave with pleasant things to say. Pretending in my own way.....as long as there is peace. Nevermind. nevermind. Today I feel the need to cry to feel alive, with much to do, and things to say. I'm satisfied and delighted and I want to leave with a smile on my face. I think she'd want it that way.
