ABOUT

Genuine bass player that picked up the instrument over 20 years ago. I have learned much from self study and formal education. I read music and have a decent grasp of harmony. I know my role as someone responsible for keeping the rhythm and outlining the harmony. At the end of the day I am just trying to make sure the groove is held down and the music feels good. I gigged regularly in Memphis when I lived there and had the pleasure of shaping my skills in Beale street venues. I definitely appreciated playing with a groups of older musicians that had decades more experience than me. They helped me improve not just as a bassist, but also as a musician (dynamics, listening, articulation, being forced to solo, learning to not be too rigid… help the poor drummer who has all the sh** to bring in and set up…etc.

I have studied music over the last 20 years and offer my best to do what bass players do - hold down the groove and provide a solid foundation of harmony and rhythm.

I can play a variety of music and have the skill to play almost any song. I prefer soulful bluesy/rock and funk/jazz fusion.

I have played in several cover bands and enjoy the tried and true songs over the last 50 years.
