Band to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Saxophone, Keyboard.

Diverse drummer capable of playing sparse, straight grooves to more complex, dense polyrhythm-based material. Love to shuffle. Musicians have commented that I play very well at low volumes. All this is fine, but the overriding element is the music. What inspires me most is when each instrument layers into the groove and the music just sort of "takes off." I am in search of that feeling - it can happen with a traditional 12-bar blues to the repetitive quarter note pulse of disco's pretty open ended. My goal is to get with like-minded, competent, diverse musicians that want to express themselves. I'm up for joining a band, or just subbing. I pick up on things quickly and have performed many times without rehearsals - just give me style, cue breaks and cue the ending. Sorry, I'm not a paying member, but you can reach me here - john.Palmer763 at (the big "G.M.A.I.L") dot com.

OK, so this may come across as esoteric, but for me, music is a direct connection to our senses and emotions. I tend to gravitate towards "feel good" music that has a strong pulse. Melody, Harmony, Rhythm are given, but applying instinctual human element to technique, syncopation, dynamics, intonation, improvisation is what brings the music to life.

Philosophical and idealistic? Perhaps, but I wanted to create a different perspective, rather than listing my musical heroes, for which there are many. The reality is, I have been away from playing for a bit too long and miss the musical dialog.
