My style is a bit of a mix of Brann Dailor, Keith Moon, and Martin Lopez. I like to play a lot of prog. I like to jam some jazz and use it to influence my drumming, but don't really care to be in a jazz band. I also enjoy metal, most genres, but mostly like using its heavy influences in prog rock.
I try not to be genre contained in my compositions, and like to bleed together the different styles and feelings that each genre brings.
I'm not interested in cover bands, I don't enjoy learning other people's music except for learning techniques and weird rhythms. I'm not the greatest drummer ever, but I do try to be well rounded and have an original sound.
I'm currently drumming for two bands. One is a black/death/thrash band called Toxiferous Resolve and another that's more psychedelic prog rock/blues/alternative/metal called Third Wheel (for now). The second band is hard to define.
Currently looking for keyboardist for second band. You don't have to be Rick Wakeman. But you do have to be serious about playing and trying to learn and expand, and definitely try to be original. For Third Wheel, we're mostly looking to just write and record at the moment. If you're multi instrumental that's a plus, and any singing ability is cool but not required, I'm currently the vocalist. Not the greatest, but I do alright.
