Although I've been known to dabble in many different musical formats such as rock, folk-rock, blues, acoustic, and occasionally old-school country, I am not really a "genre" defined musician or artist. As a songwriter, it's whatever best serves the song, or the lyrical content, that determines what style of music will deliver it.

Presently, I am finishing up recording a new CD after a three year layoff that was due to catastrophic injuries to my voice, hearing, and the nerves in my hands. Once finished, my hope is to form a band with active input from all members - meaning that, although I play all instruments on my recordings, I am not a drummer, or bass player, per say. I don't "think" like a bass player or a drummer, thus it takes me a long time to find the right bass line or drum pattern for the song. I would like to just concentrate on my guitar work and vocals, and let others concentrate on their instrument. I want everyone to contribute their own instincts and ideas to what best serves the song.

As a singer-songwriter these past 45 years, I must confess that that I do not have a lot of band experience, and have much to learn. That said, I have played with a lot of bands over the years, but never seemed able to find like-minded musicians - professional, committed, who are doing it not for the "lifestyle", but for the pure love of making great music, and where the fun of performing comes when everything is working, almost effortlessly, and you are aware that you are part of something bigger than yourself. Having recently turned 60, I want to try to form such a band one more time - for two reasons. First, I want to perform my songs as I've recorded them - bass, drums, keyboards, the works - instead of having to strip everything down to vocals and an acoustic guitar when performing live. A lot of my songs translate well this way, but many do not - many require a full band and, obviously, I can't play all the instruments by myself simultaneously. The second reason is simple. I just want to experience again, the "fun" of playing with a good band, as described above.

Anyway, that's about it. If any of this makes sense or appeals to you, do please let me know. Thanks for listening.

Although I enjoy a select few musicians and bands, I can't say that I've been influenced by anyone. I have my own sound, and lyrical style.
