Greetings & salutations fellow sentients! I'm Justen, a philosophically fringy writer and singer with the life goal of making a difference and a living by thinking and writing/ singing by being a hardworking clever SOB, like I do. I am looking to go pro and am seeking an established tour centric group who need a zealous and open minded vocal musician to take their art to a whole new level by collaborating and transcending the boundaries between visual/ sonic/ literary/ wearable/ and business art, challenge and advance the status quo, and share their success with those in need of empowerment. Like just about everyone, I've been singing since I could make noise. Unlike most, I am all over it. It's a really odd activity in my opinion, but it's just my thing. Though, I believe that the highest art is that of one's character and all other artistic pursuits are subject to one's quality with regard to whatever principle the artist seeks to align themselves with, like reciprocity for instance, "the Golden Rule", or agapi. If I take anything seriously, it is the quality of my person. Whatever comes out of me is a product of this pursuit as well as an athletic/ physiological approach to being an amazing vocal instrument. As such, I am, with regard to genre, very eclectic. The common thread in the patchwork of my interests is sincerity, which is a product of knowing oneself. Gnothi seauton! Sincerity can be injected into anything from roots reggae to electro swing (both of which I can easily love). Because my writing and vocal work are simply about more than genre I am super open to your sound. I'm more interested in relating to and impacting others at a fundamental level to draw us closer to that commonality, closer to singularity. Maaaaan. In closing, I'm also very into business, finance, marketing, and philanthropy. In addition to ongoing self study I hold a certificate in hospitality management from Cornell. I am very interested in creating a comprehensive brand that has a huge range of pursuits (mindblowing shows/ next level merchandise/ effective web presence/ cross art collaboration/ philanthropic initiatives/ etc.) all geared towards bringing people together to empower those whom current institutions haven't caught up with, so we may all contribute to an excellent future.

EQUIPMENT

I own a good entry level PA, wireless monitor system, and I generally rock my Shure Super 55 (SM58 Beta) and SM58. I'm also fond of my Lee Oskar harmonicas. Otherwise, just a bunch of random stuff, anything from an 88 key midi Casio to... pan flutes. Whatever makes noise.
