Hi,
My name's Justin and I've been a guitarist for almost 16 years. I currently play in a couple of bands, but I'm looking for a new thing because I pretty much need to be busy 7 days a week.
I'm looking to start a project that's a fair-sized array of modern/alternative rock, ranging from energetic to somber. I'm thinking that a female singer, a bassist, and a drummer are what I'm looking for. I have more than enough material to have a set but I'm also not looking to be the sole songwriter unless it works out that way.
Check out .reverbnation.sigmanewjersey if you'd like to hear one of the songs, albeit with a different singer. I wrote the music and lyrics, played one of the rhythm guitars, all lead guitars, bass, and backup vocals.

Influences
My material basically sounds like a mixture of Eddie Van Halen, Mike Ness (Social Distortion), and Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains.) I can definitely shred and I love to do it, but as evidenced by the link, I know when not to. Melody and songwriting come before playing technically, although I do have material where I get to show what I can do.
EQUIPMENT
Right now, I have 2 Mongrel Strat copies that I made myself and I'm working on a Les Paul copy (provided I can get some extra money). I run pretty much straight into some old Crate amp and a B52 4x12 cab. Occasionally, I'll use a Vox wah pedal. It's a simple rig made out of cheap components but it's also road tested and approved.
