Since 2001, been member of local legend; Sammy Mayfield* Band (4-12 shows/festivals annually).
Extensive resume in Denver/front range area includes: Hazel Miller, Lionel Young, Freddi & Henchie, Buckner Funken Jazz, Johnny O., Jack Hadley, Mark Diamond, Willie Houston, Jarkata, Delphonics "Reunion" show; in addition many fabulous, long time local artists; and solo club and casuals along front range.
Keyboard playing ranges from acoustic to J. McGriff style hammond, b3; along with extensive range of funk, atmospheric patches and percussion.
I approach ensemble playing like a little orchestra. Laying out, dynamics, EVERY bit, if not MORE important than notes being played!
Love to play quality music, regardless of style, 'who' wrote song. Know music theory, read, write, etc. but primarily an 'ear player... Can play/figure out near anything by ear...(sans bebop; although I've been known to poorly fake it, to some degree).
I am a professional, will not waste your time at rehearsal having you teach me changes to song.
Love to collaborate, create, break new ground and have musical conversations on stage.
