SEEKINGBand to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Drums, Other Percussion, Keyboard, Piano, Harmonica, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Dobro, Cello.
My primary instrument is my voice.
I also play a number of instruments casually. I have played the flute for 15 years and I also played the tuba for a while and will hopefully be getting a new one soon so I can start back up! I am learning how to play the ukulele and would be comfortable playing it as a background/rhythm instrument (not so much soloing, although I'm working on that!).
I am mainly a singer. I listed "alto" but I am a mezzo-soprano. I have sung in choirs for my entire life, and have taken about 4 years of private lessons in both jazz and classical. My favorite thing to sing is Americana/Folk music and jazz.
Currently I am looking to join or start a folk/bluegrass group. I am mainly looking for a guitarist (accoustic), but would love to put together a larger ensemble if possible.

My biggest influence right now is American roots music. I am obsessed with Rhiannon Giddons' newest album and have also been listening to a lot of Leyla McCalla, Old Crow Medicine Show, Chatham County Line, and Phoebe Hunt.
I also am particularly fond of singing American Songbook type big-band jazz standards. In my head, I sound like Ella Fitzgerald. I am also quite fond of Billie Holliday, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra. I love anything written by Cole Porter.
Formative years were spent listening to Tori Amos, Jewel, Alanis Morisette, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Beck, Yes, Johny Cash, Tom Waits, the Dixie Chicks.
