Katherine Louise Heyman (born September 2, 1984), often known simply by her stage name Karma Rae, is an American R&B /Pop recording artist, actress, and model. She was raised by a single mother in the West End area of Louisville, Kentucky also known as “Derby City”. She was enrolled in various performing arts schools and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Well known for her vocal abilities, the young songstress began performing locally at the age of nine, dominating one talent competition after another, while also singing in her local church choir. With her mother as her inspiration, she began writing at the age of eleven. At just sixteen years old, Karma Rae began recording with Blackround recording artist, "Native". At 18, Karma toured as a backup singer with the late Steven “Static” Major (accomplished singer and songwriter). Now, the focus is on her solo career.. Since touring with Major, Karma Rae often travels internationally, pursuing her place with music. During her journey she has performed along stage with artist such as, legendary soul group Mint Condition, and the young R&B star Lloyd, to name a few. Her sound is unique. By mixing aspects of R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Soul, she is able to create a blend of catchy, infectious lyrics, while maintaining the realm of what she calls, “real music”. After loosing her mother in 2010, Karma Rae has but one focus; to bring back feelings and emotion to “mainstreamed music” weather it be as a writer or an artist. And she is on course to do exactly that. Karma currently resides in her hometown but is often called away to the duties that will make her dream a reality. She just released her worldwide chart topping debut single “Bommerrang”. The sky is the limit and Karma Rae is reaching for the clouds.
