currently seeking a lead/rhythm guitarist to complete a "revamped" line-up for an already established, signed and licensed, progressive/power/melodic metal band located in Salt Lake City. The band already has a Vocalist, Bassist, Drummer and a lead/rhythm guitarist in place, and is in need of one more guitarist to complete the band for recording and live purposes. The band is currently writing material for it's 5th album, and will be preparing to record and play live in the near future once the line up is finalized.
The band recently released their 4th album "Hymns of Dissension" worldwide on Nightmare Records (USA & Canada) and Burning Star Records (Europe) in October 2007.
CRITERIA: am looking for a guitarist that has professional chops, discipline and a good ear for learning, is open minded & knowledgeable to various styles of metal and rock, one that is versatile, reliable, creative, motivated, patient, and also someone that is flexible concerning time devoted to the band, and one that has no "financial issues", "hang ups" and "ego problems" concerning the direction of the band or music written, has a "realistic" outlook of the music business and one that will not have a problem with the politics surrounding the bands business operations and decisions. In short - I need a guitarist that is interested in having fun doing something that they love, getting noticed and appreciated for their talent, one that wants an opportunity to be thrust into the limelight of the media, and possibly allowing me to exploit their talent to further their notoriety in our genre, and one that is interested in capitalizing on this on their own. This guitarist must have reliable equipment for studio and live situations, and one that is willing and able to work & study the material on their own time. The average age of the current band members are late 20's to early 30's and I would like to find a guitarist near or around that same age range if possible, however age is not a serious requirement if you can prove that you fit the other criteria listed above and have a strong desire and dedication to play this type of music. Having your own home DAW or Pro Tools compatible set up will be considered a plus.

Influences
The bands influences and style is reminiscent to (and has often been compared in the past to…) Fates Warning, Watchtower, Helstar, Nevermore, Jag Panzer, Riot, Testament, Iced Earth, Metal Church, Anthrax (Belladonna-era), Armored Saint, Loudness, Crimson Glory, Pshycotic Waltz, Flotsam & Jetsam, Queensryche plus many others in these styles. The band draws heavily from a mixture of melodic rock/metal and thrash/speed metal sounds of the late mid to late 80's, but adds a modern twist incorporating progressive elements of bands like Cynic, Spiral Architect, Zero Hour, Dream Theater, Ark and Pagans Mind while also using melodic rock hooks in the vein of TNT, Last Tribe, Bonfire, Pink Cream 69, Harem Scarem and King's X.
