Band to Join.ABOUT
I am looking for a band to sing in, to start a band in the indie-folk realm, or someone to help me finish my songs to completion.
I have a lot of lyrics and I general song structures/melodies, but am poor at accompanying myself and singing, and cannot record sufficiently (with no true desire to improve this skill). I currently play in the band where I primarily play the keys (and can do so in a new band), but I would prefer to be singing about 1000% more. (:
Skills
Sing: Mostly indie rock/soul/pop influences. Alto voice range. I can harmonize easily. Influences are Cigarettes After Sex, Bon Iver, James Blake, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, SYML, Ethel Cain, and classical (choral music, Rachmaninoff, Brahms).
Write: I write lyrics and melodies easily, but am working on my refinement of them. I need to improve on composition with other instruments, too. Mostly write for voice and guitar and sometimes voice and piano.
Guitar: Mediocre but improving. I cannot improvise well with other people yet, but can come up with accompaniment and can learn most things with practice.
Piano: Classically trained. I cannot improvise well with others (yet), but I can learn most things (higher complexity than guitar) and can easily come up with accompaniment.
Producing: No skills, but looking to learn enough to get by.
