ABOUT

I've played in a number of bands. Played over 100 gigs. I would say my skill level at bass is very high. I can be very technical but I am definitely not tapping and double slapping like Victor Wooten. I would say i'm not a virtuoso, but highly capable and with a very good feel. I primarily finger pick and slap a little. I'm a very competent song writer and usually write longer format epic/progressive songs. I don't really stick with one genre, and often like to change genre within a song,

I expect people in a band to practice regularly on their own and with the band. Ill be able to tell if you haven't practiced at home. I think band members should be accountable. after a song is written i like to tab it out on guitar pro so that everyone can practice to that at home.

The end game is to have fun and collaborate to make something very cool.

Influences

Again I love lots of different genres. I play bass like if Steve Harris of Iron Maiden didn't just play metal but also played prog rock that wasn't afraid to go into Latin groves, funk, and stuff. I also like tapping into the extreme sides of music as i"m also really into Punk and crazy underground hardcore and death metal, grindcore and stuff. I also am a big jazz guy, and like lots of obscure genres like Samba, Bossanova, afrocuban jazz, ska, swing, ragtime. So im all over the place. Cant forget the blues. I can be an old rock & roll, blues purist when I want to be too. Robert Johnson, lead belly, muddy waters, all lead to rock & roll, and i love all that history. I trend away from the main stream but I like a lot of the big stuff too, the beatles, zeppelin, and the who.

I pride myself on listening to more genres. I know some people who know a million black metal bands, I dont work like that, but I have a huge pallet of genre influences I tap from when I write.
