So far, we are a guitarist and bassist (and actively scouting other musicians). We have known each other for 20 years, have played in different bands and worked in the studio, but have not written together until recently. Guitarist plays 12-string electric (among others), bassist plays 5-string. The music could be described as a thoughtful twisting of hard and progressive rock with heavy/funky fusion to create original, intricate and dynamic rock music. Lots of melodic phrasing/key/time shifts. Both straight and quirky odd rhythms. Dynamics and contrast abound!
I've uploaded a sample of a tune that is currently in work to :///ken_sorensen2001 . It is a *rough* recording - a rehearsal sketch. A friend is playing drums to support the writing process, but would not fill the role of drummer for the group. This piece is a bit more complicated than some other songs in the hopper, but it at least will give some idea of musical ideas that occurs to us. Naturally it would be reworked to support vocals and other instruments. We reach for a lot of different moods, from the lovely to the tense. If the listener feels like they've gone somewhere at the end of the song, then we've done something right.
