I play keyboards - piano, organ, and synth - and am playing with a soul / R&B / funk band re-forming after losing a few members. We have myself, a bassist, drummer, and a VERY soulful singer. Some of our covers now are standards ("Superstition" "Easy" etc.), but we want to branch out into classic soul and R&B as well as some funk and soulful rock. Essentially, this band is about dance rock, but we have a real advantage: a dynamic singer with amazing chops and stage presence.
We rehearse on Mondays in Gluckstadt from 5-8 pm, and have a single-set gig coming up at the end of April. We need to get a guitarist up to speed on 10-12 songs by then, and of course move on to more songs and regular gigging by summer.
The ideal guitarist would have good rhythm and lead chops, an easy personality, experience with different styles of music, works well with others, and (of course) has all the gear he needs. Contact me if interested - we need to get someone in to practice with us ASAP.
