Kulteir is a spelling variant of the latin word Culter, which literally means the spade of a plow, but came to mean one who cultivates thus creating culture.

Kulteir began in the Fall of 2012 when Maurice Marin contacted MKALZ to start a Metallica cover band with the moniker Disposable Truth; drummer Laurent Malevergne joined soon after, and then D later auditioned and was brought on to play lead guitar. Unfortunately Laurent had to return to France when his work visa came to an end in the Summer of 2013, putting Disposable Truth on hiatus.

Having written enough original material, the trio Maurice, MKALZ, and D decided to drop the covers, coin the band name Kulteir and alias KLTR, and begin auditioning new drummers until February of 2014 when Ben Wilson joined the mix. The quartet soon was playing out around the San Diego area during that Summer helping garner a small fan base and recognition amongst the local metal scene.

After the short but epic tenure of shows, it was apparent that Kulteir KLTR was headed towards a more thrash and groove oriented metal while Ben Wilson was eager to play more technical death metal. He decided to leave the quartet to focus on what he loved as a drummer, and there are no hard feelings there.

So now Kulteir KLTR is once again searching for a drummer, but hopefully one that can remain as a long term fixture in the band. The band is also in search of a versatile vocalist so that bassist MKALZ can focus extensively on more technical bass runs and sync with the drummer.

Right now the band is working on putting together an LP with around six songs with D filling in on drums for the recording process, but they are eager to fill in the gaps so that Kulteir KLTR can advance from older material and solidify once again, as a five piece, and get back to playing shows.
