Larry formed his first band in 1965, The Persuaders, with school classmates and they played into their college years with a couple of name changes as they expanded to keep up with the evolving music scene.
Larry lists Eric Clapton and the late Matt Guitar Murphy as his favorite artists with his musical influences coming from them along with the Kings – BB, Freddie and Albert. Larry loves the combined musical efforts and energy of current artists Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart.
Larry is a member of the Kansas City Blues Society, the Kansas Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
