Drums.ABOUT
“Cover bands are getting their collective name ruined by amateurs who think they can rehearse for a month, rent a PA, pick out a stupid name, have some cards printed up for a couple of bucks (and they'll be on their way to fame), play the same 30 songs as several other bands, and disappear within months. That's not good - we should be encouraging even the cover bands to be top shelf.”
This is what I have been harping on about for years.
I want to be the band people re-arrange their weekend schedules to go see; not "background noise" in some shot-and-beer joint on a Thursday night. There must be a couple dozen bands in this area that play the same old thing. Let's do something a bit different!
I have great equipment, a good work ethic, reliable transportation, no ego issues (I ONLY want to work in a two-guitar band), and no drug, alcohol or relationship encumberments.
I am able to practice any night of the week (except Wednesdays).
So: A two guitar band where everyone (or almost everyone) sings (no "lead singer"). I prefer the heavier classic rock. For purposes of this discussion: Neil Yuck and Tom Pity don't qualify (to me) as "classic rock".
Think:
AC/DC
KISS
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath
Thin Lizzy
(just about any "heavy metal" band from the 80s)
Twisted Sister
Alice Cooper
You get the idea.
