ABOUT

I'm not sure exactly what I want to do yet - my tastes are all over the place - but I can sing. I've been told I sound sort of like Stevie Nicks or Lana Del Rey at times. I think I'll be a lot more inspired when I meet someone that I get along with musically. I'll know it when I hear it.

Influences

Too many to list, but in the classic rock genre - everything from Pink Floyd and Hendrix to Fleetwood Mac and David Bowie; 80s bands of all shapes and sizes (except maybe all that stuff that was overplayed on the radio); modern 80s-inspired synth (check out bands like Meltt, Wild Nothing, Still Corners); 90s alternative; 50s and 60s oldies from Elvis to the Righteous Bros to the Beach Boys; jazz, blues, funk; early punk; a little bit of goth/metal; rockabilly; heavily into surf rock and anything with that surf guitar-inspired sound; glam rock (Bowie, T Rex, Sweet); progressive rock, and everything in between. I have a profile that lists the half a zillion artists I like at .tastebuds.fm/blackcherrystone, but you might have to make your own profile in order to see mine.

EQUIPMENT

Vocals only. I could probably come up with some stuff on a synth if I was inspired and had someone to teach me more (pretty sure that's how Alison Goldfrapp got started with Will Gregory, and that seems to have worked out pretty well for them!). Willing to pick up some basic recording stuff and collaborate remotely, and would actually prefer that for the most part until this COVID stuff calms down. I can be reached at louvenoir at gmail dot com if you're interested in talking music.
