I've played T40cw/rock covers in house bands thru ' 70's and ' 80's, some road work since, steady local wkends in Missoula. Currently in 3 bands, one blues, one country rock, one classic/original rock. I pick up lots of demo work and fill-ins. I do lead and back-up vocals. I've backed or opened for many stars. I was Hoyt Axton's last guitarist, and co-wrote some songs with him.

Thru learning covers I've been influenced by most Nashville and West Coast session guitarists, Reggie Young, Ray Flack, Vince Gill, Robben Ford and Larry Carlton. From the beginning I've always learned country and rock at the same time. Some of my favorite compliments have been that I was "channeling" Jimmy Page or Ritchie Blackmore while doing rock. When I first moved to Missoula in ' 74 the country bands called me Led Louie 'cause I was the only country player in town who'd use a distortion pedal.
Music Man and Peavey amps, sometimes in stereo, asst. stompboxes, one multi FX unit, Fender Strat, Les Paul Deluxe, Ovation Acoustic. Ibanez 6-string bass, Yamaha keyboard, small club PA (350w per side powered head, mains and monitors, asstd mics), used to have a nice amplified nylon string, jonesin' for another one, will have one soon.
