Coming up, John was further influenced and inspired by the techniques of hard-hitting rock drummers like John Bonham, Neil Peart Lars Ulrich, Tommy Lee Mike Portnoy Mike Manginni. That kept me very focused on my goal, I began to experiment stylistically, getting into progressive rock and fusion, Neil Peart Terry Bozzio became another important influences along with prolific session drummers like Virgil Denote Thomas Lang, Cozy Powell.
