ABOUT

I write songs with themes that move me.. The human experience and the position in which we find ourselves at this time in history... some of my songs are sentimental and touch on love and family, some are political and social commentary, some are cheeky and push boundaries, and some are hopeful, noting that the best things in life are those that can't be bought. All my music is honest.

I'm originally from Latvia and I also play Eastern European Slavic and Romani folk music. I sing in Russian, Serbian, Romani, English, and Spanish. I'm into percussion and can hold complex rhythms on the cajón, djembe, doumbek, congas... I studied African drums for many years along with African dance, played around on a kit a bit, can play in 7, etc.
