Denny Mann - performer, composer, singer and music-seeker, supports many Florida bands and other musicians locally & statewide, where ever he travels. He is intuitively melodic, seriously syncopated and skillful. Although he had some music theory training, he is best described as playing by feel organically without chord charts..
Hailing from Jersey City, NJ, Dennis started learning the guitar after picking up a James Taylor’s “Sweet Baby James” album and knew that he wanted to be a musician, singer and composer.
As a youngster, he sang in choir, which later helped him to be part of an interdenominational gospel choir in south central Los Angeles, that had success in performing in the United Kingdom and also be part of a Gospel compilation CD music project.
His love for musical styles and fascination of hearing the sounds of other fundamental and foundational instruments peeked his interest in also learning percussive instruments such as the drums, congas, bongos & jembe as well as the keyboards and the bass guitar, which allowed him to be versatile in playing with various musical groups in California, South Carolina, Texas, Germany, Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts with styles that ranged from rock, jazz, blues, reggae, afro-Caribbean, calypso, country & western, bluegrass and bossa nova.
Today, he enjoys living in Florida and making music with other talented musicians and singers to bring a smile to other music lovers, who listen and groove with the beat.
I am also available to tour nationally and overseas, if someone needs a bass player.
