ABOUT

My musical life began at the age of 6 playing the guitar, which incidently started my performing live career. I learnt by reading music. My private teacher, who also taught piano, steel guitar, and voice, would take her best students of each instrument to perform at recitals. So I became her best guitar student that first year. I was with her about two and half years and I worked with a rock'n'roll teacher for about a two and half years after that. So in the beginning I had 5 years of lessons, which helped build my musical foundation. Performing live started in the second grade. During the fifth grade I started entering talent contests. I, also, played for my fifth and sixth grade class, of which I put on a rock'n'roll show for my sixth grade class, which featured dancing girls and signs. Ha. The eighth grade, me and some my friends put together a band and began playing at high school dances and parties. I started playing nightclubs and bars when I was 15 and I've been doing it ever since.

Influences

Starting at age 6, there were too many influences to name, but just about anybody in the Rock, Pop, Soul R&B, Jazz, Progressive Country had some kind of influence on me. Even when I was kid, I use to watch PBS on Sunday mornings just to watch the great violinists playing with orchestras. So, my musical influences are pretty wide.

EQUIPMENT

I have a 24 channel 8 Bus Mackie recording console w/ meter bridge, two Yamaha 18" subs, two Peavey midrange-highrange speakers, with lots of digital effects. 8 guitars of which four are 6-string electrics, two 6-string acoustics (one is electric), one 12-string acoustic electric and one bass. Amp-wise, I use a dual setup. I use a Marshall and Fender Ultimate Chorus for my electrics with lots of digital effects at my disposal. Two synthesizers, Korg N5 and Kawaii K1, which provides all my piano, horns, strings, sfx, etc sounds. Alesis sequencers and drum machines. Ibanez bass with a Yorkville bass amp. And I do all my recordings and mixdowns on a Roland 18-track digital recorder.
