SEEKINGBand to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar.
Working musician seeks like-minded bassist for long term projects. Spent the past 16 years working in full bands, trios, duos, and solo. Would like to get back to working an electric trio, maybe even putting together a 4 piece rhythm section and backing some vocalists for some proper wedding/special event work. That would only be after I could secure a dedicated bassist.
Need a bassist with their own gear, their own dependable transportation, legitimate driving priveleges, and the ability to dress appropriately for what the gig requires. Vocals are an added plus, but not necessary. Must be able to transpose, as not all songs we play are performed in the original key. If you must switch from a bass tuned in E standard to a bass tuned in Eb standard because a song has been dropped from D to Db, this is not the gig for you.
Currently, my set list is focused on funk, soul, Motown, pop, and the occasional rock/blues tune or instrumental. I sing & play lead/rhythm guitar. I have a drummer that has worked with me for years. He keeps his volume controlled, which helps keep my volume down, as well.
We spend a lot of time cutting up. We have fun. We do our best to make our clients happy, and understand that word-of-mouth is powerful when it comes to a good working reputation. I don't drink when I work. I throw enought curveballs during a gig that I can honestly say I prefer someone sober on the bass, or at least someone that doesn't drink to party with the crowd.
It's not our job to drink with the crowd.
It's our job to make them happy, so they'll drink & dance and just enjoy themselves.

Someone that is influenced by the necessity of good groove, the beauty of pocket playing, and the awesome vibe you bring a crowd when the rhythm section locks in...that's the person I want on bass.
