ABOUT

Rhythm is in my soul!!! I'm a self-taught, freelance percussionist having played percussion (LIVE and Studio) with several groups over the last 25+ years. Currently working on a couple of music projects. Depending on my availability, I'm open for gigging opportunities to accompany artists/group on short-term projects as a percussionist - hit me up for details!

Started out playing the trumpet for 3 years before getting drawn to the beat of the Conga drum during my teen years! Grew up listening to LIVE Latin NYC-based bands (Mambo/Salsa, Latin Jazz, Cha Cha, Merengue, Bolero, etc). I also enjoy many genres of music besides what I've listed (Motown, Funk, Classic Rock, and Gospel) and more!

Music: NYC sound of Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Manny Oquendo, Cal TJader, FANIA All Stars, Mongo Santamaria (Salsa Classics) - lots of horns, conga/timbale solos, and jazzy instrumental at times (but always with clave!). Also, influenced by Santana, Tower of Power, Earth, Wind and Fire, Sade, and many artists!

4 LP Congas, LP Bongos, LP Mini-timbales, Cajon, Guiro, Shakers, Cowbells, TreeWorks Chimes, Tambourines, etc. Audio Equip.: 4 Audix D2 mics, One AE 5100 Condenser Mic, Mic stands, Yamaha MG10XU Mixer, and an Audio Technica M3 In-Ear Monitor. Also, running Logic Studio Audio software (Ver. 10.7.8) on a MacBook Pro.
